  • 5 ½ Tablespoons sambal
  • 1 Tablespoon garlic
  • 1 ¼ teaspoon sugar
  • 5 teaspoons red wine vinegar
  • 4 Tablespoons fish sauce
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 3 Tablespoons ginger

  1. Kendra: I am sure that is supposed to be _sambal_, the classic Indonesian chili sauce and quite often used in various Five Spice recipes. Definitely a mis-translation! Thanks for spotting it – now fixed.
