Vietnamese Steak Salad

Ingredients

Steak Marinade

  • 2 8oz steaks
  • ½ cup sesame oil
  • ½ cup soy sauce
  • 1 Tablespoon dark soy sauce
  • ½ cup sherry
  • Tablespoon black pepper

Salad

  • 4 cups broccoli florets (+/-)
  • 2 cups pea pods (+/-)
  • 1 red pepper (or pimento)
  • 1 handful sprouts
  • 12 baby corns (halved diagonally)
  • 4 cups shiitakes
  • Vietnamese Cabbage Salad Dressing

Instructions

Prepare Steak

  • Marinate steak overnight. Grill to medium rare, slice thin.

Prepare Salad

  • Steam broccoli and pea pods for 2 minutes. Quick chill in ice bath, set aside.
  • Roast pepper, slice, set aside.
  • Saute mushrooms in hot sesame oil. Salt and pepper to taste.

To Combine

  • Mix together all veggies except shiitakes.
  • Dress with Vietnamese Cabbage dressing.
  • Add sliced steak and sesame seeds. Toss together.
